L.A Tile Works are the best! They did a great job on remodeling two of my bathrooms. It now has that “Wow” factor from my guests reaction. They were very professional, efficient and easy to deal with. There were no major problems and everything went smoothly from start to finish of the project! I was particularly impressed by the precision of their tile work which shows their experience. We bought premium materials$$ that required a quality installation and these guys delivered. I have had other contractors who were flaky and compromised on work quality. Would I hire LA Tile again for future projects? Yes! Their fees are quite reasonable and they will get the job done right for you. I would highly recommend them.

There are not enough positive words that truly do justice to their work, dependability, professionalism and quality. I originally contracted Ernie to do a fairly extensive and detailed job inside my guest bathroom (subway, chair rail tile, glass, Carrera bullnose, Carrera mosaic with a border across the outline of the floor, etc … the shower stall alone had 6 different types of tile). He was so kind, friendly, professional, detailed, and just an all-around pleasure. I am fairly “Type-A” and generally oversee every little detail on remodels, but there was absolutely no need for me to do so with Ernie. He understood exactly what I wanted and carried it out flawlessly. He even fabricated a beautiful bull-nosed Carrera “subway” tile out of large 18″ X 18″ Carrera tiles that I had previously purchased. When my glass door guy came to measure, he made the comment to me that he had never seen a shower that was so perfectly square. Huge complement. Ernie did such a great job that the job grew! I was blessed to have him re-do my entire kitchen backsplash, enlarge the hole in the granite countertops for a large cooktop, and cut a hole for the dishwasher vent in the granite as well. Most days I was running out to my office and couldn’t see the progress, he would check in and shoot me pictures at the end of each day. He is meticulous. You would never even know they had been there; they left the jobsite organized and spotless each night. I have already recommended him to many of my close friends and coworkers. You’d be lucky to work with Ernie.

I recently hired Ernie to do a full bathroom remodel in my condo. Originally, Ernie had quoted me for a tile repair project and the remodel, but I decided to go with the full remodel. It was hard to even get estimates for the repair project as a handful of other tile contractors deemed it too small for them in our brief conversations. I appreciated Ernie right from the beginning for treating both projects with such professionalism and care. From day one I could tell that Ernie was a business owner who cared tremendously about his work. This was evident daily in the quality of his work, attention to detail, and communication skills. I was at work each day while Ernie worked on the remodel and he made sure to keep me updated daily through emails on the status of the project. Ernie and his team also did a great job keeping the work area clean and minimizing dust in other areas of my house. I am so pleased with the outcome of my bathroom and Ernie will be the first person I call when it is time to remodel my guest bathroom.

I can not say enough good things about this company!!! We recently bought a house and had several estimates done on a retile of the living and dining room. We had a definite “vision” of what we wanted. While Ernie’s bid was not the lowest, it was the most inclusive of all services, plus he really understood what we desired. When we went to pick out our Saltillo-style tiles, he’d already been there and told that shop what we wanted. From day one, the demolition, to day 6, the final sealing, the work quality and speed was amazing. Both Ernie and Kat really know what they’re doing – true professionals! Also, how often can you say you really enjoyed the company of any contractor? We have a few smaller jobs we’re going to tackle later on and we would never even consider calling anyone else!

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I hired Ernie to re-tile and repair a marble shower floor.  He was the consummate professional: arrived on time and on schedule, provided clear diagnosis of the problem and timely updates as necessary, and stayed on budget.  Of course, quality of work was also first rate.

We couldn’t be more pleased.  We needed repair and replacement on some vintage tiles in our 1932 Spanish style house.  Two courses of tiles needed to be removed and replaced.  Ernesto was very skilled, and very professional.  The original tiles were very close together, and he removed them precisely and neatly.  The next day, the new tiles went in, again, precisely and neatly.  The dust initiated from the job was kept to a minimum, which we appreciate very much.  We can’t say enough good things about his work, communication and professionalism.  If you need detailed tile work done, Ernesto is your guy!

To whom it may concern:

Ernie and LA Tile Works has renovated two bathrooms for me and modified my backyard planter.  Ernie and his crew are diligent and do not disappear after the work is started. He is detailed oriented and keeps the work area clean.  The work is of high quality and the results are great.  The price is reasonable, and I will be calling on them for future jobs.

Sincerely,

Linda H (Long Beach, West Hollywood)

One year ago we had LA Tile Works do quite a bit of tile work with which we were very satisfied. They did our kitchen counter tops and tile floor. They also did a shower which turned out beautifully and tile floor in that bathroom and a tile floor in the other bathroom. We have been very pleased with the work that was done. If thereʼs anything wrong, they stand by their work.   The work was finished promptly and on the schedule they proposed.

We highly recommend LA Tile Works.

Sincerely,

To Whom it May Concern:

Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of working with Ernie Valdes of LA Tile Works. I personally interviewed and hired Ernie for a large restoration project in Los Feliz. The project is a Spanish Mission Revival house built in 1930 and it has several original bathrooms that have undergone careful and historically accurate Tile restoration. From the beginning, Ernie Valdes took special attention to understand the needs and challenges of the project. He approached every detailed task with careful thought and consideration. In addition, Ernie is competent and thorough in his ability to meet the job requirements and to complete the job on time. It is apparent that Ernieʼs professional experience translates to high quality results and therefore I will continue to work with him and I highly recommend him for your project.

If you have any further questions, please contact me at your convenience.

To Whom it may concern:

Ernie from LA Tile Works has completed one large commercial shower tile job and one residential shower tile job for our management company. On both jobs his experience showed through as quality work was performed at a reasonable price. Any additional unforeseeable costs were discussed with us before any additional work was completed.

I would recommend LA Tile Works for any small or large tile job. They are reliable and the value you get from their work cannot be beat.

To Whom It May Concern:

In 2006, Ernie Valdes, LA Tile Works, installed a new tile floor in the lobby of our building. To accomplish this job, we set up an appointment at the supplier of the tile so that he could transport the tile to the job site. He was on time for our appointment and loaded and delivered the tile as requested. He then installed the tile in a very professional manner in a design pattern selected by the homeowners. He finished the job in a timely manner, which included the setting, grouting and sealing of the tile. All members of the Board of Directors and homeowners are quite satisfied with the work that was done.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the undersigned.

Very truly yours,

To Whom It May Concern:

During the summer of “06”, we added a large porch and upstairs deck to the house here at Visscher Pl. The idea was to cover a concrete patio just adjacent to the back of the house and have that do double duty by becoming a deck from the point of view of the second story, opening out an upstairs bedroom that was otherwise cramped and gloomy. I contracted with Ernie Valdes for the tiling of the downstairs porch, the upstairs deck, and the floor of the rehabilitated bedroom. I knew Ernie already as he had earlier beautifully tiled an upstairs shower adjacent to that same bedroom. The areas involved were significant: about 400 sq.ft. for the downstairs and another 635 sq.ft. upstairs. Ernie served as a full service contractor with several key plus ups along the way. First he led me to a tile retailer who was successful at getting me just the slate I was looking for. He arranged for the retailer to provide very good pricing and pass those prices directly through to me. The job itself was performed on-time and on-budget without any of the usual contractor ʻdisappearancesʼ once the job commenced. When problems arose, Ernie was there to find creative solutions around them. And when I had to negotiate effort beyond the original contract, Ernie was reasonable in pricing these. The jobs themselves – upstairs, downstairs, and the original shower – were all performed with the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The final results are all beautiful. Finally, to finish the job, we needed an upstairs wrought iron railing to be custom made. Ernie came up with the right contractor to do that job as well.

Hire this guy!

Sincerely,

Dave C (Pasadena)
